This Map can be displayed in the areas such as fire stations, convent stores, and police departments to provide the information about the landslide to the public.
This was an interesting project because we were not given the exact nature of the meeting. It could have been about dealing with the after effects of the Newbridge Slide or the potential dangers of similar areas surrounding Newbridge. In the Buncombe County map the labels distract. If you create a new field in the attributes table and only name the features that you need labled, you can avoid labels for the other municipalities that are unimportant to placing the location of the slide in the viewers mind. In the parcel map I like that you used spacial analyst. One thought to consider is that meetings are sometimes larger than expected and the handout could end up being copied in black and white. This parcel map might be hard to read in a black and white format. See you in class.
I agree that all of the labels on the location and the buffer map are overpowering. Also The location map at the top seems out of proportion for the space, wasting a decent amount of room. The labels are hard to read on the map, and the use of the fire districts add lines that most people won't recognize making it harder to read your labels. Having all of the text on the map underlined feels visually confusing and overpowering. I really liked your first two maps, but feel this map collection doesn't convey the same information as effectively as the first two did. The simple layout is beneficial for public people who aren't familiar with gathering information from maps.
